Three days Grace

Three days Grace

Three days grace is a Canadian band, and is as well known as Groundswell (In 1992). After this, there was a breakup
in the late 1997, but luckily this band regrouped themselves in 1997 and is now known as "Three days Grace."
Some of the members had changed when the band regrouped again, as the band's lead guitarist for example.
The members in Three days Grace these days are Adam Gontier, Barry Stock, Brad Walst and Neil Sanderson, and their
musics genres are Alternative Metal, Alternative rock and Hard Rock. When the band was first formed (in 1992 under
the name Groundswell)  the boys was still in High school when they formed their little group back then.
When then Groundswell broke appart, Phil Crowe (lead guitarist) and Joe Grant (secondary guitarist) left the group.
The issue why the group fell apart? Not a clue, couldn't find any facts about it. Maybe they had a fight or
they didn't get well along? Or maybe family issues or something like that. Sadly I cannot answer this question.

Well anyway, when the group then was again regrouped (without Phil and Joe), Gontier changed their bands name into
"Three days Grace". Why just to "Three days Grace"? Well, I have an answer for you. The bands name stays for this
following question: If you had three days to change something, could you do it?

The bands influences to use Alternative Metal, Alternative Rock and Hard rock came from the bands what they liked,
as Sunny day Real Estate, Kyuss, Nine Inch Nails and Alice in Chains, and accroding to St. Petersburg times, Julie Garisto,
claimed that Three days Grace's influences included as well as Nirvana and the famous black heavy metal band,
Black Sabbath. Well anyway, Gontier the influences to his lyrics are a bit unclear, due when you write lyrics,
you just write, and doesn't think about if it does remind of some bands lyric styling or such things.

The band has also won some awards, or to be honest, it isn't smart enough to count them all, but their song
"I hate everything about you" has won a few awards. (No wonder why.)

And well,I thought I could take up the case what the current members in Three days Grace do? Oh well,

Adam Gontier - Lead vocals and rhythm guitar
Brad Walst - Bass guitar and backing vocals
Neil Sanderson - Drums, percussion, piano and backing vocals
Barry Stock - Leading Guitar

But well, shall we go on with the music opinions I got on Three days Grace? okay!

Well, I'm not quite sure where I should start with this song. Well first of all I gotta say, the Lyrics are quite depressing when you think about them carefully and try to get to get to the same Mood as Gontier was when he wrote these lyrics. It's quite aggressive, but very emotional on the same time, which makes this genre more colorful. (Well I can just say, this is the next song what I'm going to listen to when I'm angry and pissed off for sure!) And I'm very very GRATEFUL that Gontier didn't use screamo on this song, it would have ruined the atmosphere. The effects and the melody are just simply great, though the bass could have been heard a bit better, it's quite hard to hear it. But I got a feeling that in Live you can hear the bass very well. So well, I gotta say, that I don't wonder AT ALL why this song did receive an award price, I would give one too if I could! And about the lyrics still, Personally I love the meaning in this song, it brings many thoughts to mind, and many questions, and maybe confusion at some parts, but I think it's just good. And maybe they could have used a bit more effects? Just a little, not that it would bother.

Well well, I don't really know, but there was some things which REALLY bothered me. The lyrics was quite okay, but there was though some things they could have of course changed a bit. But well, mostly this song bothers me in the part they're singing "Drown". They could have sang it one octave UP instead of DOWN. In my opinion it could have sounded much more better. and the lyrics in the verse are a bit... too emotive. He could have considered the content in this song a bit better I think, but Well anyway, the song as it is, it's okay, One of the bands 'normal' songs which isn't up to big jobs, as the first one "I hate everything about you". The song is like just one work from them, Though I understand them who likes this song, and the lyrics, though my opinion. The lyrics are beautiful, though a bit too emotive, and he has used very strong messages in his song, and I do believe he has considered the words MANY times.

First of all, I'm very sure about this that you all are of the same opinion as me, the lyrics are carrying a really heavy subject. But that's why it makes this song as good as it is, I tell you! The words are just simply amazing, and I gotta admit, it really reminds me of my situations in my life, and still does, and I know it is going to do that still a long time in my life. (and I got just an inspiration) But well anyway, moving on to the song, the song is very interesting in that fact that Three days Grace used acoustic and alternative rock in this song, which makes it all much more nicer to listen to, and it's a nice touch that he are singing this aggressively, and as well softly. It makes this song amazing, and a very nice song to listen to. There's not much nagging on the effects and the way Adam is singing in this song, and how he has written the lyrics, the lyrics are very good, and touching. If I could, I personally would love to thank them for writing this song, honestly!

But well anyway. Ratings?
****
4 stars.
There was a few facts which I wanted to appoint you about, Three days Grace music Reminded me a lot out of Seether, but not that it would bother me much, I think it's quite nice to be all honest with myself. And I noticed too, that nearly every song I listened to from Three days Grace are handling of the same subject, as emotions and suicidal thoughts, but this all makes me think that Three days Grace is AGAINST suicide's and all that kind of stuff, and they're maybe trying to reflect it by the music trying to tell all the ones whose listening to three days grace of their experiences? Just a thought too.
But well anyway, I just wanted to add before I'll end this blog, that Three days Grace are handling quite difficult subjects, and they have a deeper meaning in their lyrics too, which is always a big +.

But anyway, Next Friday we'll see again, but then we're talking about Celldweller. (okay, Now I bet I typoed that. So sorry if I did.)

Thank you for reading!
